Now that I am in my second year, I have had the pleasure of meeting and working with so many amazing people. From staff, teachers, and students, to parents, grandparents, and other relatives. What an amazing place!!

Something I think is also amazing to me is we have secretaries who fill in as a tech person, nurse, marketing director (just to name a few), and all the teachers who go above and beyond to bring the most current techniques to helping the children learn. Not to mention the custodians who do an amazing job of making our school shine! The students are friendly and kind and the families jump in and volunteer any chance they get.

Parents will be excited to know that there are small class sizes. Each class has their core class at the same time, to allow for students to float up or down a grade. This allows the students to learn at their level. Each class also receives additional time each day for extra reading and math instruction, for those in need. Students receive top notch core instruction and they also learn health, physical education, technology, and music.  Additionally, students in grades 4 through 8 may choose to participate in band and/or choir.  St. Thomas also offers many extracurricular activities beginning in 4th and/or 5th grade, such as cross country, golf, basketball, volleyball, track, bucket drumming, and speech. We also have Game and Running Club!

Something I think all schools should have is the buddy system. Junior High Students get to "buddy up" with Pre-K, Kindergarten, and First Grade Students. It is awesome the connection the students make. Adults still remember their buddy from St. Thomas and many still keep in touch. I love to see the people in this school Live, Love, and Serve as Christ.

One of the greatest things to me, is the students and staff go once a week to say a Rosary and another day to attend Mass together. Even the students who are not Catholic get to experience this. Our Meal Prayer is said before lunch every day. Sharing our faith is done in a way that makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of their faith.

At St. Thomas, we recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children and we love the opportunity to work with parents to help encourage a well rounded, faith-filled student. We are very lucky to have so many talented individuals in our area, who contribute their time and talent to teach our students. I am so thankful how generous and supportive the families at St. Thomas are. We couldn't do it without them.
