In Miss Eblin’s class, we are in the middle of a spectacular fall unit that includes: learning about what, how, and why our seasons change, the life cycle of apples (including the life of Johnny Appleseed) the life cycle of a pumpkin and there importance to Illinois agriculture. Additionally, we invited the U of I science group REACT to come to our classroom to help us learn more about chemistry and how it relates to our world. In reading, we are reading mysteries and identifying the characteristics. In math, our focus in both grades 2/3 has been addition and subtraction. To add more relevance to our fall unit we took a field trip to the Arthur Great Pumpkin Patch.
